Shaw Moves

Lead UX Designer, Shaw Communications Inc.

Background: The objective of Shaw Moves is to provide Shaw customers with a simple way to inform Shaw when they are moving to a new home and want to bring their Shaw services with them.

The challenge was to optimize the existing Moves pages before the fast approaching peak season to ensure that Shaw did not lose customers, due to find-ability and usability of the Moves page, during this transition time.

Approach: To better understand the existing experience I performed a heuristic analysis and interpreted analytics to understand how traffic was reaching these pages and what users did once on the page.

Based on the results of this discovery, I defined a strategic approach to communicate to stakeholders what the primary issues were, why a redesign would be more effective then optimizations and provided a high-level solution.

In addition to the primary concerns, discovery also revealed the need for a mobile solution to be addressed as a fast follow.

Once the stakeholders were aligned on the approach I worked with the visual designer and developer, referencing the high-level wires, to deliver the solution on time.
